I know the value field is not meant to precisely track the value on cards BUT it appears that when the dB was updated to allow multiple quantities be entered on one line that the value is still set as if there was only quantity of 1 on a line. Meaning if I had 100 of some card at $5 each, when it calculates the total value of the collection it only adds $5, not $5x100, which would be $500. Is this the way this is intended to work or does this need to be updated?
Thanks!
Byron

From the FAQ:
The site uses a median calculation to determine the totals that are displayed. If there isn't a median, then it takes an average.

Sounds like a potential accounting issue. I would send an email to the admin on this

Not sure what total value you are taking about.
1. Total value of your collection. It shows the value of each sport then all of your collection. If you only had 100 cards of the same card of a sport and the value of each card was $5 it would show $500. As one normally does not have that many of just one card. You cannot see the total value of all the cards you have of that card. You have to do the math on each card.
2. Total value of each card in your collection. If you go to the card and it shows you have 100 of them it will only show the value as $5. That is how it is set up so when someone goes to that card, they see the value of that card.

This is confusing because there's always a median if there's at least one sale. And if there weren't, you couldn't calculate an average value. I think we're missing some details here.

I think the OP is referring to an entry on a specific "Collection Summary" view of a checklist within a set. The prices (if any) shown will be for just one card. Whether you have a little blue 100 to the left, a 10, or just a 1, it will only show the value of a single card to the right.
However, in your Profile's overall "Collection" page, it will calculate 100x that single card price toward your cumulative "value" of that particular sport or category.

Plenty of details missing. This site is a database, not a price guide. Do not take any values seen here at face value or as absolutes. This is a wholly incomplete feature, despite progresses made, as pricing is not the intended main feature here. Use pricing at your own risk and guarantee that no one outside of this site will use that data seriously.

If we read what the OP is stating is they are saying if they have 100 items listed and the value shows 5.00 . They are claiming it is not adding collection values proper so the admin would need to look this over and see if their is a collection values mathematics error.

Budler, agreed and that is exactly what I expect it is intended to be showing, but when it then calculates the total value of your collection it only adds 1X the value in that column, it does not do the math to show that you really have 100X$5 (example), thus adding $500 to your total collection value.
To the others, its not a huge deal to me (and I would absolutely never take this value as the value for the actual value of any card), I just noticed it as I was consolidating cards in my collection that were on multiple lines to a single line to make it easier to go through certain players. As I was consolidating, my overall value was declining. At first I thought I was miscounting, so I did a test with a big number ($100) and discovered the issue that I reported.

I just did a test moving a single card to an empty collection then adding multiples of the card.
The total collection value went up as would be expected though the card value stayed that of an individual card.
(Was that the problem you were having or have I misunderstood?)
