I have asked Admin about situations like this before. Specifically, I asked him about the Topps Allen & Ginter NNO Mini parallel set.
His stance (and the site stance) is that if there is not a card number, it gets listed as NNO. His rational is that if you or I have that card in our hand, and we go to use the site filters, we are going to filter on NNO, not whatever number the base card is (which, we may not know, if we only have one single card). In addition (my opinion), it helps add more uniformity across the site.
I am pasting my message exchange with Admin regarding this topic here - I know sometimes people want to say "well where did Admin say that?" This is copy and pasted from our exchange in January of 2020.
Probably should be listed in alphabetical order for the aforementioned issues people will have in the future finding their cards in the list if there's no numbers to go by. For people who have cards from this set in their collection, it would be interesting to know how they arrange them. I imagine it would have to be alphabetically also, otherwise it would be quite tedious to get them in the same order as the base set and to readily find specific ones later on.

Hi Admin -
I know you don't always read the forums (or so you say...) but a conversation came up today and I wanted to get your opinion. I opened a dialogue with Dan about it as well, and we both agreed that I should get your thoughts.
The topic at hand was the NNO mini parallel for the 2007 Allen & Ginter baseball set. Now, according to site guidelines, NNO sets should be NNO and sorted alphabetically by last name. However, what about for a full parallel like for A&G sets? It would seem to me that they should stay in the checklist order. Dan did make a solid point about if you were holding one in your hand and didn't know anything about the sport or set, seeing a NNO checklist with seemingly no order to it would cause quite a bit of confusion.
Ultimately, I defer to you. What would you prefer to see on NNO sets that are full parallels of the base set? Whichever way you say, I'll make sure that sets are in line with that guideline. It won't hurt my feelings either way, but I wanted to get something in writing from you, especially if there is an exception in this case. Thanks!
Jason
I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.
