So that is why I have seen members who made the offers accept it after I accept it. I have been getting that lately. Are members thinking that is the way now?
Just IMO if you are making an offer no matter what size, you should know if you have the cards in hand before making the offer. If you want to just message the other member and ask him to make the offer. That way you can counter if you do not have the cards instead of upsetting the member thinking he was getting those cards that you offered to him. If it is a very large deal comminate with the member and work out a way: like you make the offer and both pull cards at the same time.
I have this on my profile: I verify before accepting Hope you verify before offering. I still have gotten a couple that they could not find a card. It is bad when I'm only getting a card or two, but it happens.
Not to offend you or anyone else. You offer. I accept it without verifying. You verify and accept. Do I get to verify and accept again? What happens if I cannot find all of cards for you. OR Do I have to verify before you (who offered) verify before the deal is really approved until you verify. If the deal falls through at this point, then I have to put all the cards back when you made the offer. This does not happen often but could.
I was told several times that pulling, verifying, putting out back is just part of the hobby along with all the other stuff we deal with. Yes it is a pain and I have done it more the once along with having to put cards back into the system after I find them in another pile. I put in a place that I would not forget about them. As I removed them from the system when I could not find them.
We have had several members getting in over their head when they accept a lot of offers without verifying. along with making offers.

I know some people won't hit accept until they've shipped, which I find to be annoying.

They can only do this if they already know your address. The address doesn’t show up until you accept, and then they are assuming you haven’t moved since your last transaction (unless you have your address in your profile).

Have to admit, I do hit the accept button even if the other person has accepted already. Now I know. But I do pull the cards before offering a trade. Yes, it can become chaotic when the trade gets changed but to me, that’s part of organizing cards.

It's just not feasible to pull cards before offering trades. More than a quarter of my trade proposals never even get a response, even though I usually offer trades that favor the other person. Successful trades often involve a lot of back and forth with cards being added and removed.
Sometimes I'm missing something, and I make up for it with additions, replacements, or eBay purchases. I've had several partners make similar mistakes and they've done the same. I don't think that's a bait and switch, it's just a necessary remedy for the fact that mistakes sometimes happen.

Perhaps the issue is the term 'pulling' cards. I've learned to organize traders by conforming my collection to the way this site is built (by set, then numerically).
I'll propose a trade or see an offer is made, bur prior to each confirm I have all by checking that I have all, not pulling them from my box.
Once the trade is accepted, then I will physically 'pull' the cards.

I completely disagree with your statement.
I accept that there are a lot of different trades and different methods of organization, but... to me, if you're making/ offering a trade YOU have a responsibility to verify the cards you're offering prior to making the offer. If you aren't sure if you have the cards, YOU listed, then perhaps you need to be better organized prior to offering trades. And yes, mistakes happen, we've all made a few but that's not the topic of discussion.
At the risk of sounding like a grouchy old man... to say that's it's not feasible sounds more like it's too inconvenient for you to do work upfront.
(Feel free to block me from any future trade offers.)

I don't propose an even trade if I haven't confirmed cards. Usually do one of the following:
1.) Pull every card- Usually do this for smaller trades if our wantlists have a similar number of matches
2.) Put all the cards they have that I want in the trade proposal, but then add a comment for them to look through my traders and counter with what they want. I use this method when I have way more cards on the other person's wantlist than they have on mine. This saves me from guessing what their priority is. If I haven't traded with them before, I leave the comment, if I have and I know they usually counter, I may just throw one random card on there and put in the message to please counter. I will then pull when they counter.
3.) Send a message before the trade proposal to see if they are even interested. If they reply to the message, there is a good chance they will follow through on the proposal.
Using these methods, the amount of extra cards I pull that don't wind up in trades is minimal. I won't pretend that I am perfect, especially on some of the larger trades, but this definitely cuts down on the errors and unnecessary card pulling.

I’m with Kcjays and svenny. As one who usually initiates a trade, I always verify that I have what I’m proposing. Don’t always pull, but know that I have them and where they are.
