Card Identification Forum

Here's a kind of crazy one and I know I need to open an IR to get this card added, I'm just not sure where.  Based on the design and '2012 SP Authentic Golf' on the back, one would think it should go here: https://www.tradingcarddb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/126134/2012-SP-Authentic---Sign-of-the-Times

But, this week for the second time, I've personally pulled this card from boxes of 2014 SP Auth.  I'm not sure if they didn't get returned in time to be inserted in the 2012 product or what happened, but I don't believe any were actually inserted in the product they were intended for.

Based on site guidelines, I believe this should this be added to the 2014 checklist since that's the product I know these were actually inserted in.  This could cause confusion for anyone with just this card as COMC, every eBay listing, etc. identify it as a 2012.  It's not listed here or on the UD, Cardboard Connection, Beckett checklists at all currently.  Thoughts?

Based on what you just said, I would vote for putting it as an insert in the product it was released in (2014 SP Authentic) with a release note in the 2012 set saying that additional Sign of the Times cards can be found in 2014 SP Authentic. Seems to me that’s the easiest way to adhere to site guidelines and still make the relevant information readily available.

I also noticed we are missing Sign of the Times 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 checklists.

Found this YouTube box break; watch at 3:20. He pulls the same 2012 Kuchar card.

I'll work on getting the missing sets added as I catalog my cards for that set.

UD had a lot of weird issues with their 2012 release w/cards getting lost on the way to/from the signers.  I'm guessing the Kuchar falls into the same bucket.  Do you agree it should be added to the 2014 checklist?

You'd be hard pressed to find a nicer guy on tour (though I'm sure Sergio doesn't feel the same).

Response from Admin was to add to 2014 (IR submitted) and add Release Note to 2012 (done).  I'm curious now if there was something similar going on with the SOTT Charley Hoffman, since that was missing from the checklist here also.  I didn't pull mine from packs, so I can't say either way.  IR was submitted to add it to the 2012 set.

In addition to the 6 noted missing 2012 SP Auth SOTT insert sets, there were 7 other insert sets also missing.  All have been added now + one other that was missing from 2012 SP.  IR also submitted for one of the existing insert sets associated with SP Auth, but belongs with SP.  Now I remember why I haven't added much of my golf collection here.  It seems every time I go to catalog my haves/wants for one it turns into something like this, 2012 Leaf Metal was missing at least 25 insert sets too.  Good for points I guess, but frustrating when what should take 30 minutes or less requires many hours of cleanup.
