Found a couple of things the first was some 1909 Hassan tobacco cards (T53?) that were similiar with same kind of rope design border but didn't have the bilingual stuff. Then I found some images linked to some ebay auctions for cards from 1930 V290 Hamilton Cowboy Series. Ahh some more digging it appears that the V290 Hamilton Cowboy cards are a kind of remake of the Hassan Tobacco Cards by a Candadian candy company.
There is a discussion about a card from this set on this forum page:www.network54.com/Forum/526604/thread/1272900323/

I think you are
correct, the card
is from "1930 V290
Hamilton Gum
Cowboys".

To put a link like this captkirk42.blogspot.com on the foroum click the top button icon that has a globe with what looks like a sidewise 8 or a pair of glasses that opens up an "insert/edit link" popup window then you type in the url address and click the OK button. MJF wrote: Double Oups : In

Yes, 1930 V290. But your card in the scan does not look like original 1930 V290 cardboard. It could be just the scan or possibly a "reprint".

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

This card is a
original. I have
all the set (50
cards) in the
original box. The
box is not in a
good shape but all
the set is in very
good condition.

Do you mean a set box? Do you have a scan/photo of the box? These weren't originally issued in boxes as complete sets. They were issued in packs with gum; I believe in two series.
BTW: I did find a checklist for the 1930 V290 set.

Ok, now I understand. I think you are correct. The box is real old box, fit exactly for the set, but nothing is mention on the box. I think I will search for more informations.
