Card Identification Forum

Once again, I need assistance. I'm having difficulty telling the 2001 Press Pass Premiums from the Premium Golds, and I'm not sure how well the scans will illustrate my problem. The Press Pass logo on the Petty card is a bright gold, while the Jones card is duller, almost a bronze. However, the checkered flag element on the Petty card is silver, while it is bright gold on the Jones card. My instinct is to call the Petty gold and the Jones the base version, but because Press Pass is obviously run by demons with nothing better to do than torture an old man with weak eyes and a weaker mind, I'm not sure that's correct. I know I'll get the answer here.

The Buckshot is the gold and the Petty is the base card. The gold holofoil cards were one per pack where the base were (I think- I have not opened any since it was new) 4 per pack.

Thanks, I knew someone could set me straight. Looking at the scans, the BJ card appears gold, which is the opposite of how the cards actually look to me. Ratio is usually a tip to version, but I got these as part of a 5,000 card lot (mostly stuff I don't want, but who can resist 5,000 of almost anything for $10?) and I have 7 of each type. Go figure.

The foil they used was odd that year...if my memory is correct, which is more luck than skill sometimes, this was the first set that included Cup cards of Harvick.
