2004 Donruss DK Materials, or 2004 DK Combos?

For the life of me I cannot determine how a distinction is made between the 2004 Donruss DK Combos cards and the 2004 Donruss DK Materials cards. I have been reading and searching to discover how they are distinguished, and even using eBay and other sites I am beginning to suspec that many others have no clue either. As often as not the seemingly exact same card is listed as one or the other. Can anyone help me?
