Glad to hear you are all ok out east, its a pretty "In like a Lion" March in NA by the looks of things. We are is a nasty blizzard here, started last night and should be gone by tomorrow. Just had to run tro the neighbours and it is NASTY!! Blowing snow so bad that at times its near whiteout conditions. And my poor wife had to work all day today, drove in at 8:30 AM. When looking at this storm as it was headed our way it was all the way from California to northern British Columbia.

Glad to hear all you boys are safe. In S. Jersey, eh, not much, wet snow and rain, howling winds, and a few broken branches. Stay safe, ~Bob~

South Jersey here and lot of trees were felled by winds too. Cousin in Medford NJ lost a huge tree. Areas near Philly lost power, traffic lights out in some areas, all prolonging my babysitting gig with the granddaughter.

I'm sure grandpa doesn't mind!! Unless you are a grandpa like my dad was LOL, a quick visit always did him good. Loved his g-kids but couldn't handle them all in one sitting!! ROFL

Bill, I remember as a kid losing power and putting thing outside on unheated porch to keep things cold. Had to do this for 3 days I think. Worse part was no lights and cold water. We had a coal heater and heat rises so no electricity needed for that.

Robert “It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Today, October 2, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped and summer was gone.” ― A. Bartlett Giamatti robertkimble.us/tradingcards

A sudden change where Wednesday was it it was in the 50's and then colder and rain next day then that Friday morning. As my Aunt Beat in Kansas woiuld say, "Well, you do live in the north-east. Out here (Kansas )someone keeps leaving the picket fence gate open that lets the cold down here from Canada."

We never lost power, but nasty stuff here. Had fences fall and siding come off houses. Many downed trees. Had to play through it though for baseball tryouts.

Funny how so many of you north of me didn't lose power but I did! It was only for an hour, but it was still a bit surprising because we rarely lose power around here due to weather. I'm guessing the wind took down a tree somewhere nearby and it took out the lines. There was no flickering or anything, just a shutdown of everything electrical. At least the rain was gone here before the wind picked up. It's been sunny here for the last two days, just really windy. I was glad to see the sun though. It had rained every day since last Saturday until clearing out Thursday night.

My power lines are underground, which is why we kept power. Still some nasty stuff.

I lost power 4 times throughout the day on Friday in Wappingers Falls but not for more than a few minutes each time. Now waiting on hopefully a decent enough tax return to pick up a generator.
Billy as mentioned above if the temperature outside is colder than inside don't forget to put that to use. Also have an empty cooler on hand. In desperate times you can put your medicine in the cooler with a couple frozen steaks or other frozen items out of your freezer.
We have a separate upright freezer, and I always have 4-5 gallon milk containers filled with water on the bottom shelf in there amongst a few other bags of ice. Keeps the freezer more efficient to have it filled, but also works very nicely in a pinch if you need to pack something cold.
