yes to keep this type of stuff off line.  Do understand why zroomed do his post.  He do not call anyone out.  This site has been doing a very good job of keeping this type of stuff off of the boards not like some other sites that really get bad and ugly.

Comminations is the key and getting back with people in a day or two is a need in most deals.  We all have stories we can tell.  I have been in both sides of this coin and I understand how it feels.

I was in Garrison shoes when I started selling my nephew's collection.  I spent most of the 1st week just answering e-mails and messages.  NO time to look or pull cards.

I made a several big mistakes when I 1st put my nephew's collection up for sale.   

1. not know what I really had  (still do not)

2. not knowing what prices I wanted for them  (still not sure)

3. posting on several site at one time.  

4. not getting a feel on what the buyer really wanted.   ( can you sent me a list of this , then can you send me a list of that)

I won't and don't pull any cards unless I have a good feeling on the deal..I'm okay with pricing but won't pull any cards until I have payment..The time involved to pull cards, and then put them back, is too much work for a deal that won't happen..I've done a few sales lately where I've told the buyer "here's the price" but I won't be able to verify all cards until I pull them..And then if I have a few cards I can't find, I'll throw in some other cards as substitutes..

The time spent to pull 200-300 cards from a large collection and if they are cards from all different sets, can be hugely time consuming..

I don't sell and rarely buy cards, but in regards to trades...

I'm with Bill on this one. I learned the hard way. I made a large trade offer awhile ago after sharing a few emails to discuss the deal. I didn't want to do an official offer until I pulled the cards (sometimes my TCDB inventory has "glitches").

Long story-short, I spent the time pulling and putting together an offer and it was declined without explanation. Then everything had to go back into inventory. Now if I make a large offer I'll usually stipulate that I haven't pulled the cards yet and inventory inaccuracies might cause slight changes. 

Of course I try and stay positive. I try and remember that all of us have lives away from cards and sometimes stuff happens. I know that I've been late in sending a few trades (sorry mzentko) and I think I was short once or twice (mzentko again maybe? Why does that guy still trade with me? ), but so far my trade partners have been gracious enough to forgive my shortcomings. I try and do the same. Communication is the key and the desire to be responsible and fair goes a long way.

No or poor communcation along with a bad experience usually means that I wont' be looking to trade with that person again though.

While we are on this topic...a public apology to Hilochef. He sent me a sale offer, but I didn't have the money at the time. (Still don't, thanks to medical costs) I told him I would get back to him, but totally forgot, next time I thought about it was when he rescinded the offer. 

I was going to have to decline anyway but the lack of communication on my part is inexcusable.
