As for the rest of what you said, you have too much common since. You’ll probably never get a job with a media company over that post.

As for the wall / government shutdown, aren't there 2 sides who vote?  How is it that under all of the other presidencies that built sections of the wall (including democrats), there was no problem in funding it yet now that it is Trump wanting to build another section, the same democrats who supported this same issue during Obama's presidency are now so much against it that they are willing to prolong the government shutdown?

For our American friends, you are 2 years away from your next elecction.  Those who are planning to run for election to lead their respective parties into the Presidential election should begin showing their intentions.  What happens if it becomes another Clinton vs Trump election?

Lastly, like ranfordfan, over the years I close myself in more and more so that I am not exposed to the false media that social media brings to us in too many ways. Most of our governments don't even know the real issues that they should be looking to fix - mental health in our next generation, education system, health system, etc.  Throwing money at these without a plan is a waste of our tax dollars. Instead of properly addressing these critical issues, we elected a Prime Minister who promised to legalize pot, the only promise he really kept.

Beckett has jumped the book value of that previously 5-10 cent card to $20! I noticed it b/c I found another copy of the card while adding cards from the estate auction lot. Now I have 3 of them. I just can't bring myself to basically rip people off by listing them on ebay though. It'll be back down to nearly nothing eventually.

I was only talking about the $5 billion JUST for the wall. The House and Congress have passed bills giving $1 billion and more, but don't want to give the full $5.2 billion Trump is asking for the wall in the budget.

I certainly don't want to see people dying for any reason (but old age is inevitable). I don't know that a bigger/stronger wall will save that many lives though. It might help with the drugs flowing in, but a wall doesn't stop a tunnel and there have been lots of those discovered over the years. If immigrants are willing to risk death to illegally cross the desert and the wall turns them back, they are still in a desert.

The last thing I want to see is a border like there was in Germany (b/t the east and west) where people were killed for trying to cross by getting shot or stepping on a mine. The difference there was the wall was built to keep people from leaving East Germany, not entering it. And I'm not talking about just the Berlin Wall, the rest of the wall across the country was much more dangerous.

Again, it's the media, so trust what you want. I'm not saying I trust all the info in that show, but I don't disagree with all the info either.

Does he really think you can put a wall in the middle of the Great Lakes, Niagara Falls and up the St. Lawrence River to the Atlantic. It's just stupid to me.

I'm presenting these questions in a reasonable manner and will not respond to any attacks on my views. I'd be happy respond to any reasonable question or viewpoint in return.

I'll close with my thoughts that the media is the most responsible for the descension in America. They blow everything out of proportion and continue reporting on anything that happens consistently now that is a "hot-button topic" even though it was happening the same amount in the past. Racism, mass-shootings, targeted bombings and government shutdowns are nothing new in the US. It's just that news spreads faster in this time than it did decades ago.

I do want to address the Kaepernick thing though. He wasn't really "blackballed" until he sued the NFL. That is why Kaep is not on a team now. Who wants to deal with that stuff? The Panthers took a gamble and signed the 1st player that joined Colin with his "protest". But then he was fined several times for excessive hits to players this season. Jerry Richardson would have never considered signing him, but Tepper was tempted and signed him.

BTW, I read the other day that the NFL was restricting any sales of Panthers jerseys of Rae Carruth. Ummm, should there be any of those still existing after he was sent to prison in 1997 or 98 for murder of his ex-girlfriend and almost killing thier unborn baby? Now that Rae is out of prison, he wants custody of his son. WHAT?! Okay, that went off-topic there. Ignore that last part, but I do want to hear opinions about the rest of my post.

spazmatastic, It’s completely complicated issue. However I’d add for thought, a fence is above ground only so tunnels would be easy. A wall maybe 30 feet below ground. Possibly combining a wall and some tech with a  sensor for tunneling might be ideal. 

I’d like to see governments in Nicaragua, Honduras and Guatemala that took the half a billion we give in aide each year to help their people and not just have leaders that live large. The corruption is large in each of these countries. It’s not the people’s fault to want a better life. There must be a better solution over all so that child and women are not tracking hundreds of miles on a dangerous journey where many are victimized along the way.

Amazing reaction in price for a non-sport related event. 

I wonder if Mark Jackson is buying them up to get rid of them and the connection between him and the Menendez brothers. I feel for Mark.
