Hello,

i was wondering if there is a searchablel database that can tell you what game a photo was taken of a player. For example:

2019 Topps Opening Day - Kevin Pillar #132

I thought it would be fun to find out which game and check out the boxscore to help fill out the story of the card.

People have identified a lot of actual games based on the context in the photos.  This one might be difficult as there is no one else in the shot, but it appears he is in his home uniform, so that at least cuts the season in half.  Assuming the photo is actually from 2018.

I believe this photo was taken from the July 6th game last season. Yankees @ Blue Jays. Greg Bird hit a deep fly ball to Pillar in the top of the 2nd.

Somebody has a user list showing cards that have been game specific identified.

Cool thanks!  I will also look for the user list have have gaem specific identified.  Was hoping for a simple database but probably only Topps knows where each photo came from.  If it was from a photopgrapher he probabably no longer has the rights to it.  

If you have a ton of spare time, you can search Getty images - as mentioned above, the Pillar photo was from July 6 last year.

(Searching Kevin Pillar 2018 gave about 600 images.  However, for someone more popular doing this would be less reasonable - Mike Trout 2018 had about 2500 hits, and Aaron Judge 2018 had over 4300 matches.)

crop off the borders and do a "reverse image search" and see if anything comes up.
