Please learn a lesson from me. If you have any tooth pain, DO NOT put it off. I put it off for a couple of months, and I just went through the worst physical pain I've ever experienced in my life- and I have lived in pain, 24/7/365 for almost 20 years.
I literally thought that I was going to go insane from the pain, it was so bad. To put it in perspective, I once had a small surgery with zero pain killer/numbing agent and I stayed awake watching them work. (That wasn't even as painful as the back injury I got at age 17, which has impacted every day of my life since then)
Please learn from my mistake and don't go through what I did.

I don't know if it's human nature or a "guy thing" to just dismiss an ache or pain and say, "It'll pass on it's own." From you described, though, severe pain like that should be checked out, so good call.

Been there...done that! My problem is not with necessarily the pain associated with teeth (abscessed I presume). My problem is on extraction ( and I've had more than one!) I would nearly always pass out (literally) before making it to the desk to make the payment (something else that could make one pass out as well) . In retrospect I think regular checkups may have prevented some of the agony but as olerud363 said "I don't know if it's human nature or a "guy thing" to just dismiss an ache or pain and say, "It'll pass on it's own." Hope you recover soon...

Agree from personal experience. Spent a night in the ER from ignoring tooth pain earlier this year. Can become life and death in a hurry if you ignore it hoping it'll go away! Hope you're feeling better
