Get well soon, Billy. I can say that tooth pain is the worst pain I've ever had. I put off aches and pains too, but that was too much. Then I had to wait two weeks to even get anything done, which the pills they gave didn't work either.
I can say that the spinal tap I got when I was taken to the hospital and they thought I had menegitis (which I didn't) felt less painful. Then again, I was pretty pilled up and numbed but still.
When I got my tooth (and wisdom teeth) pulled, I was pain free and moving around within hours. I was so happy.

I'll be the 1st to admit it. I cried like a little girl when they pressed on my belly tring to figure out what was wrong with me. (Had a bowel blockage). Needed emergency surgery.

I hope you feel better soon billy.
I was is a very bad car accident in my late teens. almost lost my right arm. 32 stitches to fix the scalping the glass did to my head. As I went through the side window. landed on my back around 20 yards away. We rolled the cars 4 times. We were doing around 80mph. My friend Eddy had to be cut out of the car. If he did not try to reach for me as I went out the window he would have been beheaded. The roof was smashed into the dashboard he broke an arm in 3 places a leg his nose and cracked a few ribs. It did major damage to my back. I crush some vertebrae lost an inch in high. I had to learn to walk again and use my right arm. The pain in my back is always there and pain killers do nothing. I crushed a bunch of nerve ending and have dead spots all over my body, where I can't feel anything. but I can feel my back pain every waking minute. But having a tooth in pain is the absolute worst!! I've ever had to deal with.
Cloves do take away tooth pain if you can hang with the tastes. I've found they work quite well.
Get well soon bro.

I hear ya Billy. I was on a flight to Amsterdam and had a tooth flair up. Thought I would tough it out when I got there. Nope, didn't work. 3 days later I went to see a dentist and he did a root canel with no shots. It actually felt better when he was doing it than the previous 3 days.

Been there too bud, and like somebody said, regular checkups aare a must. I never slept for three days way back and after they yanked the POS I never stopped going. Four extractions later and several fillings and I have been pain free for over 20 years.
Now the pain I am going through now is almost as bad. Torn rotator cuff and shoulder joint damage. Did it July 15th and finally go for my MRI and surgical consult on Tuesday. The motivation is low because its so painful but am still working as best I can, I am on partial disability right now and I can only pray its fixable and the quicker the better. Same with my wife I keep her awake so many nights I feel guilty. If I need surgeryn its 3 months minimum I'm out of work, if that happens trust me that that business plan I have needed to make may finally just get done!!!

Thanks everyone.after the novacaine wore off the pain came back so it looks like I'll be getting a wisdom tooth pulled in the next day or two. The worst is that I can't eat anything because it's too excruciating to chew. So my medicine for diabetes is all messed up, the pain meds are making me sick and more. Not a fun thing going on right now. I'm also dizzy/lightheaded form lack of food and sleep.

Billy be careful about eating. You have to keep the food away from the tooth. If food gets stuck in there is could become infected. If it gets infected they can't do anything. You will have to take antibiotics for a few weeks to fight the infection. Before a dentist can do anything. I've been there, done that and you don't want to. The pain only gets worse and you're stuck with it till the infection is gone.
