Remember that shoebox I paid $20 for? I finally finished processing it today. I got 998 new cards out of it, 28 new sets, all football and baseball. Six sports, multi-sport and non-sports were covered, I even managed to get a new NASCAR card out of it! Of the 998 cards, 875 of them were hockey cards. I knew it was mostly hockey when I got it, which is why I got it. The couple NBA and single new NASCAR card were bonus surprises!
Of the 998 cards, only 10 possibly need scans for the Database. Three will lead to Mystery Card posts, one of which has already been posted. Maybe only 8 depending on if I just can't find the other two and they are already listed.
At the show, I did hit 5000 SN cards, I also hit 18,000 hockey cards in my collection...and now after doing the entirety of the shoebox I am only 47 cards away from 19,000. I have that many in the stash but I need to process some of these before I dig back into my unopened stash. I ended up with a total of 1218 new cards from the show, and I have not even processed all the stuff Dan gave me yet.
Unfortunately a good number of the cards have brick damage. There was nothing newer than the 1994-95 season for the NHL, with the vast majority of them being from 1993-94. I suspect I was the first person to look at them since 1997, and I only guess that late because there are promos from that year that were on the bottom. There are also some corner issues, since they were not really stored properly before I got them. But, they are the best condition copies I have of the cards so for now they are happily part of my collection. Even though only 10 needs scans here, I still scan everything for my collection, and it will take me quite a while to move through them...although the damaged ones I'll probably hold off on, it can't be that hard to find upgrades for 1993-94 Pinnacle, Donruss and Topps Premier, I'm sure.
VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards.
