Another drought ended while another one continues. Congrats to the Dodgers! That was a really good series to watch. I didn't expect to watch much of it since I don't root for either team. I wanted to see the Dodgers end their drought b/c they've been so close the last few years, but I also wanted to see the Rays get their 1st title. I ended up watching a good chunk of every single game.
Interesting fact: The last 10 years have seen the NL win the title 6 times and half of the 4 losses were the Dodgers! Half of the AL's 4 wins were the Red Sox.

I'm on Cloud 9 and so happy that the Dodgers won (and the Lakers, too). ! Being born and raised in Los Angeles and Los Angeles County at various times, I bleed Dodger Blue. I also live just 13 miles past the Dodger Stadium center field wall. It's also very heartwarming to hear other baseball fans sympathizing with the Dodgers' drought of World Series trophies. I also sympathize with diehard fans of other teams, especially those with teams that seldom/never win the World Series. But I'm so glad that Kershaw, Jansen and Turner will finally get their rings along with the rest of the team/organization. I'm so glad they also did it for Tommy Lasorda, Vin, Magic and the late great Don Newcombe, Ron Perranoski, "Sweet" Lou Johnson and Jay Johnstone.
As for Justin Turner, I hope it's a false-positive covid test, seeing as how they've been quarantining the past few weeks. JT is so highly respected in the community because he gives so generously of his time to local charities/fundraisers. His foundation has done so much for so many people. Hopefully it's much ado about nothing.

Of the two teams I am glad it was the Dodgers that won. Sometimes I get upset that an old guard team wins over a newer team that hasn't been to the show as often, but in this case I have very little interest in the Rays.

I can't believe that there are not more replies to this thread! Where is everybody? No baseball for several months led to a flurry of activity late in the "season", but so few people have anything to say about the World Series?! I'm kinda shocked.
Last year's WS thread was WAY more active and it started before the WS even started Game 1. Where is everyone after the Series is over?

"JT is so highly respected in the community because he gives so generously of his time to local charities/fundraisers."
It was very generous of Turner to return to the field and share his newfound test results with all his teammates, who can then generously share all across the City of Angels and beyond. His disdain for protocols might cause his respect in the community to slip a notch or two. That said, it was clearly the Dodgers' time, as they put all the pieces together when they had to.

Even though Kevin Cash went with his ‘no more than twice through the order” analytics game plan, one can’t help but wonder how much Blake Snell had left. I think back to Game 7 of the 1991 WS, when ‘Black Jack’ Morris pleaded his case after nine, that he wasn’t tapped, and Tom Kelly responded with a verbal shrug, words to the effect of “What the hell, it’s only a game”. Jack finished ten innings in a 1-0 win.
I was waiting for Fox analyst John Smoltz to bring that up, but unless I missed it, he never did. Smoltz squared off against Jack in that game, relieved in the 8th when the Twins got a runner to third base. I know that John remembers that Series, because in an earlier game he (and Joe Buck, whose dad called the play) referenced the Kent Hrbek-Ron Gant wrestling match at first base…
