Earlier this month I celebrated my 10th anniversary on the Database and promised a contest. That time is now...First, here is what you can win, a variety of options are open for you:
- 1st place can select any 25 cards off my tradelist OR can choose to send me to the local card show with $20 and see what I can find that I feel like would fit best in their collection.
- 2nd Place can select any 15 cards off my tradelist OR the card show deal with $15
- 3rd Place can select any 10 cards off my tradelist OR the card show deal with $10
- See some cards on my wantlist but not enough to meet the quota? A combination of some cards and finding something at the card show is available, but will be determined based on what cards from the Tradelist are selected.
How do you play? Well, since it's my anniversary I thought up some Trivial Questions about myself and my card hobby, so hopefully you pay attention to my writings, lol. Each correct answer is 1 point and yes, I do have tie breakers in mind if need be. All of the questions are things I'm pretty sure I have said on the Database over the years, although I can't remember everything I've said...
- What is my favorite sport?
- What is my favorite sports card set?
- What is my favorite Non-Sports card set?
- What was the first set I ever completed?
- What are my favorite type of cards to collect?
- What is my second favorite types of cards to collect? It's a tie for me so there are two correct answers. Bonus point if you get both.
- I call myself a specific type of collector. What is the term I invented?
- What is my main goal in the hobby?
- What was my previous main goal in the hobby?
- What is my end goal in the hobby? Yes, I'm working towards something long term.
- What NBA player have I seen naked? Bonus point if you can recall how that happened.
- Cards are not actually my main hobby, nor are they my oldest hobby. What is my main hobby?
- What is my oldest hobby? (By oldest I don't mean which was invented first, but which I was introduced to first)
- How many Database members have I met in person?
- The Database played a major role in my life besides card-related things, although it does play a big role in that too. How did the Database change the course of my daily life forever after?
- What is my favorite specific time period for cards? Looking for a specific year range here.
- What is my LEAST favorite NBA set?
- I have a specific way I describe what I collect. Quote me.
- How far have I traveled one way speicifically for a card show? (in time, I don't know the miles)
- How many pack released cards have I appeared on?
- Which TV show would I most like to see a comprehensive card set produced for?
- What NBA player am I extremely distantly related to?
- There is only one continent I have never mailed to. What is it? (Already will tell you it's NOT Antarctica, I HAVE mailed there to a scientist friend, although not cards)
So there's the questions. If you get all 25 points available you will get a bonus I have yet to determine. Although if you do get all 25 right it means you have either an eiditic memory or have even less of a life than I do (or at least a better idea how to use the search tools than me.)
Anyone can enter. I will ship anywhere, this is not USA exclusive, no limits on this. Thank you for playing. Will keep the conest open until Tuesday night at midnight, so 5 days should be enough time for everyone who wants to enter. Please post answers as a comment.

I was hoping this would get a little more traction, but so be it...the winner is TwinKiller, with 5 points! Hockeydude got 2 points. Here are the correct answers:
- NASCAR
- 1996-97 Ultra NBA - TwinKiller got this correct
- 1954 Topps Scoop- TwinKiller also got this one correct
- 1990 Classic Monster Trucks
- Base cards
- Parallels and Serial Numbered cards
- I'm a collector of opportunity.
- One card of every person to get one in my major sports. TwinKiller got this right as well
- One card from every major set for my three sports is acceptable, as it was a goal I had and talked about, but set completing is what I thought about when making the post.
- My end goal is to create a Hall of Fame and museum for the hobby.
- Rick Fox. I was channel surfing and came across his nude scene on HBO.
- I'll take model cars. 1/64 NASCAR diecast is my main hobby, but some people do refer to them as models, so I'll give Chris and Luke the credit here.
- Comic books. My brother read me my first comic at 5 days old and I'm still in the hobby, at least somewhat.
- 5. C2Cigars, SuomiBear, jimmetal, Vrooomed, colengco, in the order I met them.
- I became a hockey fan due to a thread on the Database. There was a thread about the Golden Knights logo, but no picture of it, so I put on the NHL Network on tv to try and see it, and I ended up getting hooked on the sport from watching On the Fly. Hockey has been a part of my life every day since.
- 1994-96
- 1998-99 Fleer Brilliants.
- "I collect NASCAR, the NBA, NHL and some Non-Sports"
- 4 hours. From home to Taunton, Massachusetts.
- 0. This was a trick question!
- The Simpsons
- Kevin Love is correct, point to Chris. Kevin Love is my 23rd Cousin, we both descend from John of Gaunt.
- South America. If any South American collectors read this, I would like to trade with you. It doesn't matter what you send me, I just want to make a trade to South America.
Luke, pick out your PIF. Once I get it out to you, and off my tradelist, Chris can pick. Thanks for playing!

I expected more participation too, so I answered from work instead of waiting to get home and clear my head. Doesn't help that I'd been away from blogging for 2+ months.
Billy, congrats on 10 years at TCDB and thanks for the contest!
