Is the Honky Tonk Man truly the greatest World Wide Wrestling Federation Intercontinental Champion of all time? It seems far fetched, but I think he just might be.

I do know one thing: The Macho Man Randy Savage is definitely NOT the greatest Undisputed World Wrestling Federation Intercontinental Heavyweight Champion!

I haven't watched programming in a very long time, but remember growing up with the impression that Don Muraco and Pedro Morales could each kick asses in a barroom fight as well as grapple amateur-style. They looked like men that could tie someone up until they squealed 'uncle'.

I think it's not so much about wrestling ability, more about ability to actually say "I am the greatest undisputed world wrestling federation ...." I think it's quite hard to even say without getting tripped up, and to say something so ridiculous convincingly is a talent in its own right, especially wearing wrestling garbs/costumes, being in character, etc. Kind of like how only the really great actors can pull off sci Fi, or superman, batman.

Well, since they all have the 'ability' to say it, there needs to be a qualifier. Otherwise, every champion is in the discussion.

My vote is for the "Ayatollah of Rock 'n' Rolla" Chris Jericho with his record nine reigns.

When I think of the IC belt, I think of Y2J.

Or does that make him the worst champion, since he lost the title 9 times.😉 Pedro Morales held the title the longest, more than 600 days over his two title reigns.

Did Honky Tonk hold the belt continuously for the longest?
