Wait what boken ribs, Your a Canadien and probably played hockey so my only advice is get back in the game because you are not a basketball player who got a boo boo. Suck it up butter cup.
Ahhhh just kidding my friend, hope you get better. Hoping for a quick recovery, but if not atleast we can see you working on the name/team validation and adding checklists. If you are in a recovery status I am expecting to see all the hockey checklists done :)
Take care and quick recovery

Yikes. Hope you're feeling better soon!
Unfortunately there's not much that can be done with broken ribs other than protect them and try to control the pain while they heal. I work with post-op cardiac surgery patients who have had their sternum cut or a cut on their side between the ribs. Best thing you can do is keep a pillow close by to hug to brace the area when you cough, sneeze, laugh, etc.

Now that I have had some time to think about this. I wondered, "what kind of Canadian slips on ice"? I don't believe you are Canadian at all.
I checked the Vegas odds and the odds for a Canadian slipping on ice was like a trillion to one.

Robert “It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Today, October 2, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped and summer was gone.” ― A. Bartlett Giamatti robertkimble.us/tradingcards

Well don't I feel SO much better. Some of you are nice and some of you are on my friends list ......... can anyone guess =P
Diagnosis ......... not broken thankfully but .......... dislocated two ribs from my spine and that caused them to rip the cartilidge on the breastplate. The popping noises I heard when I stood up was them going back into palce on my back so everything luckily set back in place right away. Spent only 3.5 hours at the ER in the end, got to jump the line a bit and once the Xrays were done and saw the doc I left with nothing more than a dose of T3s, a perscip for a few more and some muscle relaxant cream (no nasty jokes) and a suck it up buttercup (more or less). LOL He said that broken ribs would have been better. DOH
Got home took my two T3s and slept like a baby. Did not listen to the wife and actually went to work as it has been tough enough this winter, can't lose time now. And just a TAD sore tonight, and breathing is actually not too too bad, its bending over (again be nice!), twisting and lifting that bites the most. Ice cream, chocolate and popcorn do not hurt a bit.
Prognosis ............. doc says at least two weeks before the pain will subside and another week or two before I hit 100 % Slow and steady wins the race as April is the month for me, three jobs on deck, well over 30 K ............. finally its only been 2 years of hell. That makes the pain a little more bareable. =)

Glad to hear it's not too bad, but ouch. Feel better quickly.
And T3s are nice. Best thing when in serious pain.
