It was brought up, so I have to say something about it!
McDonald's employees HAVE stood up to the corporation! They DID protest a few years ago! They protested low wages and crappy work conditions. Then franchise owners got involved too. Now most McD's employees earn more than minimum wage. Workers in aviation and other forms of transportation, as well as school teachers, have all had protests in the past few years too! It is everyone's right to protest getting treated poorly or being paid very little for their hard work, especially when the owners/investors get SO MUCH MORE of the income.
As for the NFL, they came down HARD on every player involved in any kind of domestic abuse or assault situation a few years ago! Since then, those situations have dropped dramatically among NFL athletes. The Carolina Panthers have always stood strong against bad behavior among their athletes. They have released so many players just for a DUI that it is nearly shocking. They have dropped every player that ever had an assault case against them. It's the owners of those teams that keep hiring the players with a bad reputation that the NFL should go after. Dallas is a big one. They constantly ignore reputation off the field if the on-field rep is good enough. Oakland tends to do it too. Bad owners will hire bad people if they can contribute on the field.
