Today I attended the Hemmings Concours d'Elegance in Lake George, NY. While I was there, I met Chuck- C2Cigars- the first time I've ever met a Database member in person, at least actually talking! (I've been in the same room with Dan (Vrooomed) but we didn't actually talk- I didn't know he was there)
It was pretty cool to finally meet someone from my favorite website ever! This site- and the people who make it what it is- have become a big part of my life, and now I've actually met one of you!
That's me on the left and Chuck on the right. Behind us is Tucker #1044, if you are into cars you'll know the significance of the Tucker.
You can see all my pictures HERE on my website if you want to. I won't get everything uploaded until Monday night, though! There's over 300 photos and more than a half hour of video that will eventually be uploaded.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. Awesome meeting up together! I would love to meet some members someday. I have seen the idea brought up in the forums before of a TCDB convention where we could all get together. I know that would be very difficult to do, but it would be wonderful!
-------------------------------
I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.

Could do something like getting a suite for an MLB, NHL, MLB, and NFL game, have members RSVP and help pay for the suite, and we all meet up?

Yeah I have said it several times that that would be a grand idea but so far the closest members I have friended are in Colorado and Ontario, there was one fellow from British Columbia possibly a long way back but anyhoo my point being is that I head up TCDB North Division, its a cold, bleak job but somebody can't let the ruskies sneak in via Santa Claus. I'm glad you and Chuck got to shake hands and kick the can a bit, not likely to happen for me anytime soon. Oh well. I know Tucker was a brand of car and he was pretty well beat into oblivion by the big three (i think) but other than that not much else.

There was talk of doing something like this at a chat feed I belong to for MMA, renting out a box for the most recent Cormier-Jones event fail. The idea didn't fall through however.

I actually got to meet jclre2003. I bought a couple of sets off of him and we were trying to figure out shipping options, I live in Buffalo and he was near Winston-Salem. I was driving home from a Disney trip in Florida with my kids during the purchase and we were stopping for the night right near Winston-Salem. The stars aligned and we were able to meet up and not bother with shipping. We had a nice conversation in a McDonald's parking lot while my wife and kids were back at the hotel having breakfast. James was an awesome person and it was really fun to have conversation with someone from the site. It was the coolest way to do a transaction with someone from the site and if anyone is within an hour or two of driving from each other, I would highly recommend meeting up instead of shipping if the trade is larger. It was just a cool experience.
If anyone is in the Buffalo area, whether they live there or are traveling through, feel free to reach out and if I have the time, I would always be willing to meet up. We can even use Dave and Adams as a meetup place since they have the Super Store here. There are a lot of really cool people on the site and in a world of only interacting with people via reading communications electronically, it is sometimes refreshing to see someone, talk to them, and realize that all these words and fonts are representative of real actual people!

I've met 2 members (NJDevils & DaClyde) and yes, I think I saw Billy in a local bookstore, but I was pretty new to the site, and wasn't 100% sure, and wasn't about to walk up to a stranger and ask if his name was Billy - because if it wasn't, that would be embarassing. Plus, I had my son (who was maybe 9 or 10 at the time) with me, and walking up to strangers is not a great example to be showing! :)
If anyone is in the southern NJ area (like NJDevils), my best friend is re-opening a card shop (actually already had it open since the beginning of Sept) and having a Grand Opening celebration (giveaways, sales, fun, etc.) on Saturday Sept. 30 from 10 AM to 4 PM. Sean Landeta (NFL Super Bowl champion) will be signing autographs - for free. I will also be there and hope to see anyone else who can make it.
Address: 2673 Haddonfield Rd, Pennsauken, NJ

It was a great weekend for a car show! Glad to hear you guys were enjoying it. I was in Burlington VT with the family this weekend, we took the Lincoln up there for the NSRA Northeast Nationals.

I think a great opportunity to meet other members would be at various card conventions, which people might be going to anyways.
Any fellow Canucks planning to attend the Canadian Fall Expo in Toronto in November?
