Anybody watching the Daytona 500 saw the wreck at the end. Prayers for Ryan Newman who was driving the #6 car. Hopefully he is OK.

I'm hoping for the best, but that was ugly.

Sadly it reminded me of one of Earnhardt's wrecks, but thankfully it was one that Dale walked away from. Dale hit the wall at Talladega and while spinning upside down Robert Pressley hit his car in the drivers side of the roof.
Anyways hoping to see Newman at Vegas next week, even if it is standing in the pits and not driving.

Serious condition, but non life threatning. Good news considering what could have been.

I feel like you speak for all of us on that Billy. It was a scary sight but like you said he is alive and that is better than a lot of people were anticipating.

Yes...one of the worst wrecks I've seen. Driver's area hits that hard have usually been fatal throughout NASCAR history. I've actually seen less violent hits prove deadly. The safety built into these is cars is amazing.
Here's a clip of it on twitter if anyone is interested in seeing what we are talking about. video of wreck Sorry, I don't know how to embed it directly, or if that's even possible.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. That was the most horrific wreck I've ever seen for a single car and I was happy to read on NASCAR.com that the injuries were not life-threatening. Going upside-down is bad enough, but getting plowed into on the driver's side by a full-speed car made that so much worse. And then sliding a couple hundred yards on the roof on the driver's side was even more scary. That could have been a complete disaster! Thankfully the rescue crew was there very quick and able to extinguish the fire. The sight of his car upside-down and on fire with fuel gushing from the car so close to the fire could have been a deadly explosion for multiple people! I would now not be surprised if this is also his last season in a car. Fitting to leave the same season as Jimmie Johnson, who he won Rookie of the Year over back in 2002. I'd just hate to see retirement be forced upon him. I do wish the best for Ryan!!!
That was such a good race until the wrecks started with about 20 laps to go. I think it finished 10 laps past the original distance. NASCAR has STILL not released official race results.
