I just added the checklist for the Factroy Set parallel version. I made the assumption that the factory set only had one version of each card. Also, alrady added to the Trivia section was this:
- Factory set cards have a 1986 copyright date.
- Packed out cards have a 1987 copyright date or no copyright date. The cards with 1987 copyright dates are 1-35, 41-75, 81-115, 121-155, and 161-195. The others have no copyright date.
So, here's why I'm posting this. We has an IR in for one specific card (118). The scan in the base set was actually a factory set version and the IR submitter has the packed out version that hell upload as soon as the images for the factory set get moved. From what I saw when I was researching this was MANY of the base set cards are actually from the Factory Set and need to be moved. I am asking for help in identifying the ones that need to be moved BEFORE we start posting new factory set images. So, start reporting them on the card's page just report that we need to "Move to FS". Once they are all moved, then we can start uploading whatever is missing in the factory set and get the images back for the packed out versions.
Thanks for your assistance in this.

Yuck. I just went through card #150 through card #180. Most of them had a copyright of 1986...I think. I mean, the last digit of the blown up the size of my screen, smeared, no-detail line in most of them looked like it took up the amount of space that a "6" would as opposed to a "7".
Of course...I thought the same even for the Alfredo Griffin that has a NOTE2 of "ERR: Copyright date 1987" so maybe I should *NOT* have been trying to inspect these.
I need to go rest my eyes for a bit.

I thought I was just being blind and not able to see.them. Maybe we need newer, better scans of all of these.

Here's what's odd about this: A quick review of listings on COMC and Ebay which show both sides of the card show the vast majority have the 1986 copyright; i.e., in other words, they came from factory sets, not packs. (I guess this pre-dated the phenomenon of keeping factory sets sealed.)

My question about the breakout of sets. I recently found out that several cards in my collection were moved to the wrong location. For example 91 Fleer Rod Booker was just a single card when I entered it last summer. This spring an ERR was entered on him thereby making 2 cards, an ERR and COR version. My card was moved to the ERR version when I had the COR version. The ONLY reason I knew it happened was because I got a trade offer for the COR card. It didn't make sense to me as my spreadsheet I had, pulled from this site, never had a ERR/COR version. When the change in the DB was made the card was moved to what was assumed it should be, no notifcation to the owners. So maybe that needs to be a feature. When a change like that is done a warning goes out to those having it listed in their collection so they can make sure their cards were moved to the right spot.
Leads to this, when the split of this set is made something needs to go out to owners that it has happened so they can make sure their cards are moved to the right location. If not, they will at least know so they can adjust properly. Like many other, I, for one, am a stickler for making sure I have the ight things annontated. I highly dislike telling traders "oops, my bad, data entry error."
Just a LONG thought.

I have 52 cards from this set that I pulled from packs when they first came out way back when. They have a mix of copyright dates, 41 from 1986 and only 11 from 1987. Could this be a case of a second printing run in 1987 instead of packs vs factory set?

@andyhudson - I really don't know - all I know is what has been put firth as general public knowledge. Maybe that is incorrect. Maybe there was some re-packing going on. I don't know.
@jimetal7212 - I've been trying to either publish forum posts or e-mail directly people who may be affected by card/set deletions/moves. Since I'm not the only one who can do these, I can only speak for my actions. I am hopeful that when I have done that, it has been helpful for those members.

As a recepient of those messages it is very much appreciated. You already know I misread some of this post when discussing this set. But having seen the messages for other sets it makes it so much easier to see changes as it happens. Maybe someday Admin would have time to set up an alert function that would automatically send something out when a change happens. Save time for Levels 8's who take those extra steps.

FYI - I just opened a pack of 1987 Sportsflics.
Cards #18 and #45 (as well as the two "Team Logo Trivia Cards") had copyright 1986 on them.

Does this mean our "Trivia" item is completely incorrect?
Additionally, this means that Beckett is completely wrong (from their site):
The cards in the factory-collated sets are copyrighted 1986, while the cards in the wax packs are copyrighted 1987 or show no copyright year on the back. Cards from wax packs with 1987 copyright are 1-35, 41-75, 81-115, 121-155, and 161-195; the rest of the numbers (when taken from wax packs) are found without a copyright year.
