Saw proofs being sold. Any idea if they are real?

The seller says that they are proofs and are lacking the coating over the front and because of this both images are visible. Haven't seen any evidence of proofs being talked about so I just wanted to check and see if anybody here knows the legitimacy

Sounds like someone just peeled off the plastic. I wouldn't trust it. Like the fake Finest proofs with the backs peeled off. Edited on: Jul 17, 2020 - 10:47AM

They could also be from unfinished sheets that went out the back door of the printer. I see a lot of partially made cards get listed on eBay as 'proofs'. Might be a neat item for somebody's collection, but I wouldn't pay a premium for it.
