Going through sets listings on my own spreadsheet and here. I noticed on this site there is a 1961-62 Salada Coins hockey set and a Shirriff Salida Coins sets for 1961-62 listed. Any of my fellow collectors know the difference between the sets or are they the same. If they are the same then one needs to be deleted. If they are different then I will add to my excel spreasheet.

Trying to acquire one card for every for every set, insert, parralle, minor, euro, team issue, oddball etc sets produced for Hockey. Been an interesting project.

If it is like the baseball sets from the same year, the Shirriff are the Canadian version. In baseball, the number of different coins issued is the only difference as 21 of the Salada ones were not issued as Shirriff. As well, the backs are different, i.e. "Salada" vs "Shirriff".

Shirriff and Salada merged in 1957. They left the names alone, Shirriff in Canada and Salada in USA. Think of them as O-Pee-Chee and Topps. Edited on: Feb 22, 2017 - 10:11AM ------------------------------- *Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.*
