We have identified 627 cards (of the 660) that have the difference in back orientation. (The exceptions were the 26 DK cards and the 7 checklists.) These have now been added to the checklist as the "b" versions of the cards. Note2 for each of those cards contains the following text: "VAR: Factory Set version: Back bottom matches with front left". All Notes are the same (RR & RC) with the addition of VAR for all "b" versions.
Admin will be sending out an e-mail for those who do not read the forums.
They are currently listed at the end of the checklist and have the "b" in the number field. Admin will be handling the re-sort and the moving of the "b"s to the extra field - there is no need to make edits. Please do not make any edits!
The cards are available to have scans added. Please feel free to start adding the proper images. NOTE: Do not post the backs upside down. Thanks.
If you own factory set versions, you can now list them in their own spot.
Special thanks to cl_kyle for busting up his still-sealed set to help with the research, to Admin for helping me figure out how to properly add them, and to the members who requested these be added.

Cards come from a smoke/pet/Subway-bread/patchouli free home.

I agree mainly because now the Base checklist is almost twice as long.

Good question Billy?
But meanwhile, that's fantastic and those of us that have them to list are very thankful. THANKS !
Now the sets ['88 and '89 have similar issues] Will they be added next?

I know this was done as VARs at Admin's direction, I believe it was due to not all cards being affected where you could tell a factory from a pack issued once opened. I'm sure Dan will chime in if this is incorrect.

Billy, et al., I worked with Admin on this one. This was the guidance he gave. He has also given this guidance for the 1991 Donruss set (which I'm still in the process of trying to figure out which cards have 2 versions and which ones have 3). Yes, there will be up to 3 VARs in the set. And that was by Admin's advice.
Not every set is going to fit into the pigeon holes we've started in the past. Additionally, as we have progressed, we have found it better to do things differently. Think Master set versus "complete" set. Now, if you don't care about orientation of the backs, you can make a complete set out of either ones. There may actually be some sets that work BETTER as VARs and not as parallels. Again, just because one set was done that way, doesn't mean it's the best way for all other sets. Let's actually think here and not be robots.

Bob, in fact, here's the thread about it: https://www.tradingcarddb.com/Forum.cfm/Page/S/ID/119/?MODE=VIEW&ThreadID=14487&C=2
And the first response there is from you. :)
