1987 TOPPS
We already have the Major Errors/Variations listed on site.
Here are a few more for you to ponder:
1.Pictured are TBC Cards: Apparently SOME but not ALL have YELLOW DATES not white.
2. #4 Lopes can be found with the following CR dates: 1985, 1987 or none [haven't found 1 of these].
3. #259 Greenwell & #567 Matthews have distinguishing marks on the jersey and neck [PM me for details]
4. The Stickers came 3 ways: Soft Back, Hard Back/Blue Ink, Hard Back/Black Ink

Thx, CAD, well suited addition. For an overproduced release [1987] these cards are rarer than most.
Note: I found 1 Reggie and 1 Clemente in 3 monsters.

I am fairly certain the black-backed stickers only occurred for the soft back foil (all star) stickers, not the hard backs.

I believe The yellow date variations are just a color shift, there are many differing amounts of yellow that appear within the dates on those cards. From 0% to 100% yellow.

Ed, agreed. In fact, in a private message discussing the 1987 Topps stuff, I even said to someone - "Not sure if these are really a white vs. yellow or if they were all kinda cream colored to begin with and it's just some are little darker than others making them yellow looking." I have looked at the several that I have and noticed this. Yes, I could take an extreme example of one end and an extreme of the other, and it would look like they are different colors, but when I looked at all of the cards I have together, it was truly just an assortment of shades of "cream".
I'm still investigating the other points made in the original post.

PLEASE, EVERYONE, go back to the Junk Wax Gems link and look at the example. Actually click on the image and then click again to zoom and see it FULL size. It's not a solid yellow, looks like color shift, overun, splatter, whatever. Here it is for those that don't want to go look at it closely.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

OK, correcting the stickers, I personally just started sorting boxes and boxes of these.
So....Only 2 sets ? Soft back and Hard back each with a different color backs?
