May I request that other long-time members volunteer to do the greater part of the work on this set than the usual handful who have done the 1988, 1989 and 1991 sets?

Oh, I agree. Part of my response was more sarcasm (wrongly used here) and not suggesting he lead it.

See my Team Approach.
Cards 1-100 - Team Members #1
Cards 101-200 - Team Members #2
and so on. More than just 1 member can tackle the 100 card groupings.
Having every helper looking thru 50,000 cards can be a quick turn-off. So a member teams to cover the 700+ card set. could be a solution.
We could have a sign up sheet like this:
T#1- ~bob~
T#2-
T#3-
T#4-
T#5-
T#6-
T#7-

Really? I guess that the 1988, 1990 and 1992 Donruss sets will eventually go the way 1991 and 1989 did, but it is kinda of splitting hairs to me. Don't get mad at me, but Topps get critized for overproducing way too many card variations while using the same picture and the site doesn't pay much attention to printing defects (such as ink color variation), but it will create 4 variations for something the manufacturer considered to be the same exact product packaged / mixed all together? Can we rather work to find actual ERR / COR instead? My two cents.

If anyone cares at this point I have confirmed that the entire base set 1-715 and BC-1 - BC-26 exist with the period after INC with the exception of the checklists 100,200,300,400,500,600,700 and card #716, these 8 do not have a copyright on them. So if someone wishes to do some preresearch you can concentrate on the NO period variation. I did not look into the error/variation cards just the base set.

hmmm.....I have 2x as many 1990 as I did 1989. So unless this is broken up into Teams as mentioned, I'll have to sit on the bench.

I went through the error cards I have and now have found all the 1990 Donruss with period (INC.) listed on TCDB EXCEPT for 2 cards which are the 2 #660 variations with the black line through the star.
So here is a start and I will take a 100 card section to look for the no period if 5 or 6 others will do the same.

Might I suggest you try to do something along the lines of what Dan did for the 89 set. Create a Google spreadsheet listing the cards and columns for each suspected variant. Those who want to assist can request access and go from there. it should be easier than tyring to do it through the forum. Just a suggestion, but it worked for 89

I am officially insane.
I have set up a Google Sheet to handle the verification of these.
There is some pre-work needed before the verification process begins.
Looking for trusted members to contact me via PM (only) to obtain access to the document to participate in this one.

This is the moment when I finally realize why I've held on to Dan's address all this time.
Should a 10 foot pole arrive in your mailbox anonymously consider it the most valuable PIF you ever receive!
I volunteer to check through my meager collection.
