Nope, you are not losing your mind. Though I love this site for many reasons, the search engine on this site is one thing I don't like but have learned how to minimize the headache. As a newcomer and not knowledgeable in the nomenclature of some of the sets (not just here but in the hobby), a person searching for this set would most likely type in "1990 Topps All-Star Set" because that is what the name is on the back of the card. It came up as the #535 hit in the search because it is not named that; it is the "1990 Topps - Glossy Send-Ins". You would think all the 1990 Topps sets would be the top of the list in a search. Not here.
You might even think just to type in "1990 Topps" but that will still put the set after all of the 2015 Topps Archives sets.
So how to find a card sooner? Search the name of the player then use the filters to find the card #. Most players won't have more than a page of cards with the same # and they will be chronological and alphabetical in the list. Once you have the card, you also have the set listing.
