Also keep in mind minimum selling prices on various sites.
Sportlots - 20 cents (was 18 cents up until recently)
COMC - 45 cents (anything lower has either been there a long time or is being sold at a loss)
ebay - 99 cents for any Buy It Now item
While single-seller sites (cardbarrel & baseballcardstore.ca) can have lower base prices.
I think you will find that flagship set cards produced by the big companies from about 1987-1992 can be found in massive quantities (with very few exceptions, but of course there are exceptions). And generally, those exceptions ARE noted by the price guides.
Please also remember, TCDB was never designed to be, or take the place of, a price guide. It simply records sales for historical purposes. (If it wanted to be a "true" price guide, conditions would also have to be considered when calculating median "prices", but that's not the case and we see some really suspect "prices" in some pre-1960 sets.)
