As I have been updating my personal checklist to provide more information on my collection I came across my 2002 Fleer Tradition Glossy. The database has them listed under the Fleer Tradition set which seems logical. This set, it turns out, was inserted in 2002 Fleer Tradition Update according to Beckett and Baseballcardpedia.
Before putting in an IR I wanted to make sure that this information wasn't already known, discussed about, and determined that because it is a parallel to 2002 Fleer Tradition, that it needs to be listed with 2002 Fleer Tradition. Otherwise, from what I understand, it should be listed with 2002 Fleer Tradition Update as that is where you pulled these from.
Say the word and I will put in an IR to have it corrected, or leave it as it is.

Do your glossies have the "U" prefix in front of the number?

No they don't. Again I wasn't sure if it was going to matter as all 900 Glossy cards are only inserted in Update packs.
The situation just seems similar to something that was just brought up a few weeks ago about the 1994 Finest, Bowman, and Stadium Club Superstar Samplers. They are a parallel to each card in there respective sets, but they were only ever released in Topps Bakers Dozen Factory sets, so all those cards were moved to Topps, instead of where they were in Finest, Bowman, and Stadium Club.

If they were released only in Update then that's where'd they go with a good Release Note.

An IR is in to move the Glossy to Update, and it'll be an insert to avoid confusion with Update's own Glossy parallel.

I don't agree. This happens from time to time.
in the 2012 Topps product, the gold parallel SN2012 was not released in S1 or S2, instead all gold parallels SN2012 for S1, S2 and update were released in 2012Topps update
Sometimes checklists are extended by releases in a completely different product, such as early 2000 Fleer products. example, In 2001 Fleer Futures there was a 220 card checklist. Fleer released 10 additional Fleer Futures XRC cards SN2499 in 2001 Fleer Platinum Rookie Collection [or S2 or update.]
IMO, the only time a parallel, should be listed elsewhere, is when it comes out in a different year.

However, this is not the direction Admin has given us when we have asked about these types of occurences in card sets. Admin has directly instructed us to list the cards in the product in which they were released. Therefore, we will continue to list them as such.

I hear you, I understand, and I still don't agree.
IMO - if the admin could hear my 2 cents - the parallel in these specific cases, belongs with the base set, with a release note that the cards were found in the update release.

We're going by the direction given by Admin. It's the same reason why none of the Upper Deck hockey updates are with the primary sets, why Rookie Update cards are separate from the three sets they're updating, why 2002 Donruss The Rookies updates are separate from the multiple sets they're updating, etc. We update the Release Notes of the primary set to let people know where the rest of the cards can be found so they aren't re-added in error.
