2018 Topps Baseball Forum

Should I wait until the product officially is released or pre-order a hobby box? I was curious if it were cheaper if I ordered early. Also, who do you buy from, if you can recall?

I preordered a hobby box of Heritage MiLB last year without issue from Steel City Collectibles. Fair prices. Might go and buy a box of Pro Debut. Really want that Tebow as I can get it autographed.

It really depends on the brand. I pre-ordered Bowman as I had a feeling the price would shoot up right after the release. Lo-and-behold it did so I saved, as it stands now, at least $30. Also pre-ordered Series 1. The price ended up being a little higher than it was going a few weeks later, but norhing outrageous so I wasn't stressing it. I'll say this about Series 2, the pre-order price is higher on this one. Can't imagine why..... Couldn't possibly be about some guy out in LA or anything

I preordered a Topps Series 1 jumbo box from gotbaseballcards.com for around $95.  Probably got it 4 days after release date which was a bit of a bummer but couldn't beat the price.

That same size is next to impossible to find right now in Series 2. I looked the other day and could only find one place that offered them and they were $150.

I've probably called by LCS 15 times checking to see if they're going to be getting any in... but they haven't answered the phone a single time I've called. That place cracks me up. 

By now, any savings from pre-ordering is probably all but gone.  I probably should have pre-ordered myself but usually my LCS has had reasonable prices.  If they don't this time around, I might end up pre-ordering a box of update before they get even crazier.
