This set IMO should be 1986 instead of 1983. Player Irving Fryar rookie year is 1985 I purchased that card as a 1986.

Did you ask rmpaq5 where he got the information? The checklist for 1986 doesn't match up.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Fryar's rookie year was 1984. And Ron Meyer was head coach from 1982-1984. So the set must be 1984.

The only year Fryar and Meyer were on the same team was 1984. The other problem is Cryder and van Eeghan's last season was 1983. Maybe they were cut during 1984 training camp or pre-season, so they got included.

The one you linked is different from what's listed in the 1983 set above. Notice the helmet in the lower left, the 1983 set in question has just the Patriot hiking, no helmet logo, in the lower left.

Maybe 1984 then. Definitely not 1986. Meyer wasn't the coach and Hannah was retired. I replied to your PMs

I'm getting really confused. I purchased 2 Irving Fryar cards Both was listed as 1986 both was signed. Yes they are not the same picture I though at the time he may have 2 cards in the set. I only know about the 1986 set. Both from the same seller zartanthegreat1. One card is the same as his other 1986 cards and the other is same as his 1987 card. It appeared to me he listed one wrong. He calls them Signed Team issued.
I looked at the cards on E Bay under New England Patriots Frito Lays . You guys have more knowelge then I do about these sets.

I would say the 1983 set checklist linked above is definitely 1984. As far as the images, they could be the wrong cards, wrong year.
It's been changed to 1984.
