1992 Pinnacle Baseball Forum

I have been trying to complete the images on the sets that are close to cmpletion of which I have some of the cards.  I came across this set that is missing only an error or variation of the Juan Guzman card.  Problem is, whne the checklist was added, the contributor failed to state why this was a variation from the 27a card.  As far as I know, from all of my references, no major publication lists a variation or error of this card.  I did find interesting that there are 2 collectors hwo have this variation.

Can anyone enlighten the rest of us on what this error or variation is?  Bob, I know you specialize in these; do you have the answer?

I kinda have the answer. I do not have these these 2 cards, so it's unverified.

BUT, #27A is Juan Guzman,  #28 is Eric Anthony .... reports are that there are Eric Anthony cards with #27, hence the 27 A/B listing. But wouldn't that make Eric Anthony a variation w/ both #s 27 and 28? I will dig a little deeper. Hope that helps a bit..... ~BOB~

Thanks Bob.  If anyone had the answer, I knew it would probably be you.  My only problem is that my numerouos guides do not reference this possible error.  Usually they are pretty good about identifying wrong #'d cards.  I will keep diggin as well and see if I come up with anything.

I have been trying to do the same thing too. Finishing off sets that are close. Like you I can't find the variation either.

Found it!  It is the Pinnacle logo on one card is at the top and the other, it is at the bottom.  As it turns out, I only have two of these cards and, as luck would have it, I have one of each.  Going to upload the images next.

For anyone reading, this is just a friendly reminder that, when uploading checklists, make sure the note fields are filled in when there are errors or variations.  It saves others a lot of bewilderment.

Done.  Should show up during the next upload.  Pure luck to have one of each.  I was in Toronto for four years and picked up many cards including commons.  But most collections I bought had all Blue Jays cards removed.  Many of my incomplete sets are predominantly missing Blue Jays cards.
