Pretty bland checklist if you ask me. Didn't do too deep a dive into it, but my Nats are in the same boat.
I can understand waiting on a guy like Franco for 2022 to hype more product, but it seems strange that guys who were traded 2.5 months prior to release aren't pictured with their new teams. They can get ASG stuff in there but not stuff that happened a couple weeks later? Seems to me the date should be pushed back a little bit to include all the trades. Otherwise the set seems like a lost opportunity.
I'll still get all my Nats base (and SPs, if there are any). The Black Gold set is a fun throwback, I remember when that was a big time insert.

Shoot, they have Chance Sisco on my Orioles. He was released in June, then picked up by the Mets a few days later and sent to AAA. That was all before the All-Star break.

I'm happy to see an Akil Baddoo RC in the checklist for the Tigers, but no Eric Hasse RC..?

When do they finalize the checklist? I'm annoyed at stupid stuff like Nomar Mazara and Wilson Ramos finally getting flagship Tigers cards long after they've been released, plus one of my PC guys, Rich Hill, getting an appearance with the Rays instead of the Mets, to whom he was traded at the deadline. I remember when Topps Update was Topps Traded and actually documented traded players!
Also, I'd like to remind everyone that the base checklist shouldn't be uploaded until we have a good handle on the SPs, please

I find it interesting that the cutoff clearly isn't properly defined. I was of the belief that the cutoff was somewhere in June given that lack of new debuts after that (correlating to the cutoff for RC/CU in the Now set), but that doesn't rationalize the Nogowski Pirates card (didn't join the organization until July), unless they swapped the team last minute with some photoshop magic? Not the sort of thing commonly done in the modern iterations of Updates.

Terrible choices for the Astros. No Chas McCormick or Jake Meyers who have been playing all year but they give a card to Tyler Ivey who pitched 1 game and Myles Straw who got traded months ago. Weird selection. It's like they don't even watch baseball.

I post videos on YouTube of my trades and my collection, busting packs, etc. Take a look and leave some feedback! https://youtube.com/user/brodiescomics https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/profile/brodiescomics

No Scherzer, Turner, Rizzo, Gallo, etc. really thought there'd be more of an "update"!

Those were my exact feelings! Wilson Ramos was cut before July (which surprised me) and Nomar Mazara was cut before August. I thought Eric Hasse had a RC previously. Hoping to see it in 2022 Series 1 I guess. Topps' decisions on who gets a card are completely baffling to me. Beau Burrows got a card for the Tigers this year, but Matt Manning did not. Dario Agrazal got a card for the Tigers in 2020 Topps, but never suited up for the Tigers. As much as I'll miss Topps making cards, maybe Fanatics will get the player selections better.
