Cards 406 - 450 have two versions of each card. They're designated as "a" and "b" on the checklist. My question is what determines if a card is the "a" or "b" version? Is this something I need a Beckett Annual to determine or is some other reference source used? I have a number of the cards that are currently missing but have no idea if they should be uploaded as an "a" or "b" card.
There are descriptors for the Note2 VAR on a few of the cards but the bulk have nothing that describes what the variation is.

There is nothing published to determine which are a and b versions. I've added the note2 info based on my own sightings. I reckoned that the b versions are rarer so the ones that are more common are a. It may not be correct but there's literally no other guide to go off of. They couldn't even make it easy and make one a home jersey and one road, that would have been the logical thing to do.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. according to beckett.com, "A" version is hobby and "B" version is retail. Both were inserted 1:4 packs.

Thanks for the feedback. I did find the checklist on Beckett.com and they show pictures of most of what they call the "A" cards. Since I have no idea if my cards are hobby or retail or both, I'll use that as a guide and hope that their info is correct.
I agree that the home/road jersey idea would have made things a whole lot simpler.

Hi friends....quick quesion on the Series 2 a and b variations for Star Rookie Retro....were both cards offered in a UDX parallel /50? I finally landed both base cards 430a and 430b Glen Rice, and I have one of the UDX parallels /50 (white jersey holding ball). I honestly dont know which is a or b, but wonder if both came as a UDX parallel? Thanks!

From what I've seen on COMC and other places, all the UDX parallels #406-450 only came in the Retail image version.
The main set's checklist has all the descriptions in Note2. "a" is Hobby, "b" is Retail
