1980 Topps Football Forum

Has anyone ever seen one of these cards? I have what I thought was one but upon closer examination you can see where the “S” was supposed to be, but it looks like they ran out of ink. I assume the actual error card is just one of the ones ran behind this one after the ink ran all the way out. Thoughts? Ideas? 

There's a lot of black ink missing there toward the bottom, not just the "S".

I uploaded the site's image. I'm going to have to pull it out and look at it more closely. If I can find where I put the set.

The Reese is exactly that: a recurring print flaw that affects a small portion of black ink including and surrounding the position on front. There is no Reese that isn't missing the surrounding black ink, just his position. It was added to the guides a long time ago and has stuck since.

There also exists a 3rd type that has a very faint trace of black ink in the same missing print area (you can see a ghost of the S position).
