1990 Pro Set Football Forum

 I have the regular color bordered cards 669 of Jeff George, etc. But I see also the gold bordered cards listed/uploaded. Anyone know where these gold borders came from? I don't think they were 'regular' issues...maybe?!

If these have a blank side on either the front or back and not pictures/text on both sides shouldn't there be 8 cards listed? I've been looking for the cards with both sides not realizing that it is either or. 

They appear to be some form of mock-ups that were produced in great quantities. If you notice, they have several text/design differences from the issued Draft Day cards, ie, "NO. 1 DRAFT PICK" banner and scouting photo line on right. To date, no fully-printed copies have surfaced, just blank front and blank back versions. 

Originally I had thought these entered the market after Pro Set bankruptcy in 1994 but there are magazine ads from shops for them that pre-date that year. Very likely all came from a  large hoard of printer's scrap.
