Does anyone know how the Retail cards differ from the Hobby? Wondering what to look for as I come across these in the wild.

In terms of the cards, there are hobby exclusive inserts/parallels, and they differ from brand to brand. Other than that, there wouldn't be a difference. Like a base is a base whether its from a hobby or a fat pack.

I understand that is how most sets work. What makes this one different is the note you see when you go to scan a card into the database:

   "This set has a Retail version. The base set is considered the Hobby version and has a different design. Please         ensure you are posting to the correct location."

That message made me curious as to the design differences. 

Usually when Panini releases a Hobby and Retail version there is at least one differentiator, if not more. Common is the card stock used with Hobby usually thicker than Retail. Many times Panini will use a holofoil front on Hobby and a base color for Retail. Still looking to find an example of the differences for this specific release.

To add to what jimetal7212 posted I am looking at two 2022 Zenith rookie cards that I recently purchased on eBay.  The one I believe is the Hobby version clearly has a Holofoil finish; a gold "Zenith" in the upper left corner and a gold players name at the bottom; and a 44 point thickness.  The other, which I believe is the Retail version, has a plain finish; a Silver "Zenith" and player name; and has a 20.5 point thickness.  Those are the only physical differences I can clearly see.  I hope that provides some good physical examples for this specific release.

This set and others that have a Hobby set and Retail set really need notes add when the sets are added.    Most of the time (here) we have Hobby as the base (not noting it is hobby) but a lot of members add their retail cards as base not checking to see if there is a retail set.

I have gotten my share of wrong cards and sent off many messages about if they are Hobby vs Retail.  Most members do not know which is which.   

Just bought a hanger fat pack from Walmart and these have a SILVER Zenith foil and are on a fairly standard stock.  Based on images seen here, the retail base have more of an orange color at the top (compared to a more golden version) and fade into a black bottom.  

These are easily the ugliest cards I've seen in a while.
