The high number black and white variations are listed in the base set checklist while the low numbers are listed as a parallel.

Which should it be?
And was there really a B&W version of all 400 cards in the first series?

seaver78, thank you I found it. But this does not sound right. I don't understand why high number is in the base checklist but the low numbers are a parallel?

So the B&W set is a full parallel to the base set?
I'll work on this tonight. From what I see, it should be listed as a parallel set. CC listed the B&Ws in the "VAR" section, and whoever added the checklist must not have dug deep enough to understand fully.
I'll get this sorted out.

I'm not sure if every card had a B&W parallel in the low numbers. Those with images, I would be safe saying are legit B&W, the rest I cannot confirm. 2022 Heritage had B&W in the high numbers and it was included in the base set as a VAR, but again that's 2022. I don't see B&W in 2021. Maybe its best that these are added as they are confirmed through an IR.
With that said, I will say in my auditing of some of the other Parallel sets I have found issues that are not consistent with the base set. Chrome Purple uses the same card numbers but in one instance a different player on that card number...this as been corrected. The Chrome Silver has Refractors with numbering up to #274 and #375 for the same player...I still need to research this to find out why. Also, Chrome Refractors have different images than that of the base card which is fine, but as a collector your scratching your head. The Clubhouse Collection Relic set has one card that I'm not sure exists with the white boarder but there is a gold boarder version of the same card.
Lots of curveballs in this year's Heritage high numbers. All the issues I have found have had IRs and I believe they have all been corrected, but it's safe to say that one shouldn't assume the checklist for the base set is the same for any of the other parallel sets.

I found a couple references that say black & white versions exist for #1-400 and #501-600, but not #401-500 or #601-725. It doesn't appear that any cards need to be added or deleted, but either the #501-600 B&W versions should be moved to the parallel (my suggestion) or 1-400 need to be moved to the base.

Thank you very much for this additional info.
I will double-check everything later tonight, after I have had dinner and settled in for the night and can think clearly and will most likely be keeping these as a separate set.

Should no longer see any Black & White variations in the base set - they are listed as a parallel now. I have requested the Release Notes be updated to show the odds that were already there were for cards 1-400 and I added the odds for 501-600. I also added in the fact that 401-500 and 601-725 do not exist in this parallel.
Also, while doing that, I had to update all the other VARs in the base set (501-600) since the checklist uploader added all of the B&W cards as the [b] version, all other VARs needed to be shifted a letter.

Thanks, Dan. Very much appreciated as the checklist was a bit convoluted.
