Please see: http://www.tradingcarddb.com/ViewCard.cfm/sid/5001/cid/1211229/1993-94-Upper-Deck-297a-Pierre-Turgeon.
The TCDB rules states "Cards with missing foil, wrong or blank backs or front, or that are mis-cut are not catalogued here as they are printing errors and are due to random misfires during the printing process". I believe this card would fall into this category.
The card is listed in 23 member collections but do they all have this "variant" or are they mistakenly listed. I've never seen nor heard of this card, but if several people can confirm they have this card perhaps it is a variant and not simple a printing error that resulted in a few copies. What do you think?

According to the WJC checklist for the set, that card shouldn't have the WJC stamp. Error? Did a sheet(s) get the WJC foil stamp by mistake. A case of the wrong sheets loaded in the presses? If so, there should be other incorrectly stamped cards out there.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

I would say it is nothing more than a printing error, if the rules state it should not be included the simplest thing to do is send a Inaccuracies report to Admin, they will have the final answer.

Maybe someone could ask rds332000 about the provenance of the card since that is who uploaded the image. Where did it come from? Did they pull it from a pack themselves or was it obtained on the aftermarket? More information would go a long way toward determining the correct 'fix'.

I don't think I'm questioning the authenticity of the card, just its prevalence. I think its real, I just don't think its a true variant that should be listed. If a few people who claim to have this card could verify that they do in fact own this "error", I might be convinced that it should stay. But if only one person has this card, then it should be removed, since it is a printing error.

From what I remember, there were several cards with that, and there were many, many of them printed that way. I think because of the abundance, they wind up here (plus they are listed on Beckett, who also does not include simple blank backs and other printing flaws as variations).

I cannot find a listing in the Beckett Annual or online for this "printing" error.

I have several other cards that have been erroneously stamped, all between #s 220 and 309. I feel like this "variation" is improperly marked. Wouldn't this simply be a printing error? #s 225, 227, 295.
