The Hardaway card you link to is correctly labelled as a Golden State Warrior card.

You can propose whatever you want, but it won't do a bit of good here. This is simply an interpretation of the guidelines, the same interpretation that Admin has given me, Dan, Ryan, and likely anyone else who has asked this question to him directly.
Your suggestion isn't bad, but there is no change that will happen without someone talking to Admin about changing the site guidelines.

I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.

It comes down to does "Drafted by" count as "team listed". The FAQ does not specifically define what "team listed" means. I've seen many cases where someone has used a mention of a team in the write-up on the back as the "team listed". Example: "Joe Smith was Alabama's powerhouse running back and will be a great asset to the Oakland Raiders." So some consider "team listed" to mean "Drafted by" and some consider it any mention anywhere on the card.
Many players are drafted by one team and immediately traded (sometimes within minutes). And some never sign with the drafting team. One of the best examples, Eli Manning was drafted the San Diego Chargers and immediately traded to the New York Giants.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

He played 7 seasons with the Warriors.

I saw the best cards of my generation destroyed by creases, soft cornered hysterical edge wear, dragging themselves through the hobby shops at dawn looking for a top loader...

Areas like this will be up to the collector. Now days with all the transfers between colleges Which college do you attach them to. (I understand it is the last college they attended for the site) But take Darrion Daniels He was an Okie for 3 years and his last year as a Husker. There are more.

This has actually been fixed by allowing multiple colleges to be added to a PID, allowing for Joe Burrow to show up as having attended both Ohio State and LSU for example. Now, of course his individual cards would be tagged with the LSU name while in the LSU jersey before any Bengals cards could be printed, but for someone like me that collects all former Buckeyes I'm glad that Burrow (and many other transfers both in and out) can be found when I browse by college, so that I can add all Burrow cards that don't feature his LSU jersey (i.e. when he starts having cards in a Bengals jersey or if later he changes teams). Derek Anderson in basketball is the first big player that this came up to me with; he was at OSU for two years prior to finishing at Kentucky. All of his NBA cards list Kentucky as his college, but I still collect him because of those first two years.

As a biased team collector I wish it was as simple as whatever jersey he's in that is the team it gets noted as. But alas I understand it's not Joe's TCDB and rules are rules. However I KNOW there's a lot of Irish football cards I would want because they're in their college jerseys but they don't show up when you add all ND Football cards and who has time to search every former player for the greatest college team in history. .

Always looking for Blackhawk hockey, Notre Dame Football, White Sox and Bears Stuff. I have a plaque in my card room that says, "I could have been a millionaire but my mom threw out my baseball cards". How apropos!!! Collecting Chicago Blackhawks Hockey, Doug Wilson Hockey, Chicago Bears Older, Notre Dame Football in their college jerseys and Chicago White Sox.

Wouldn't it be OK to just link the college team when the primary Team is the pro one and the player is in a college uniform? (and yeah I understand thousands of draft pick cards could get links if things worked that way)
For example, this Ricky Watters RC is absolutely a Niners card, but what about a secondary team link to Notre Dame?
UPDATE: nevermind ... I just tested to see if we could do San Francisco as the primary team with a link to Notre Dame below and the system doesn't allow it, so that idea won't work

Um, no. He never played a single game for the Warriors. Never even signed a contract with them since, you know, they traded him away about an hour after drafting him.

I have spent a few hours making sure every PID that ever attended Ohio State has the Ohio State tag under college, for all sports and non sports. Then when you 'browse' by sport, and select college, they will all show up under Ohio State. Even if OSU wasn't their final school. It was time consuming, and you can't just select "Ohio State" somewhere and get every single card in one report without creating that report yourself through a collection (spoiler alert, that's also what I've done) but for me as a Buckeye collector it was definitely time well spent.
