I’m not trying to beat a dead horse here. I’ve followed this post with interest not because of the set involved but for the workings of our site and the numerous replies by our members. Many members see how the forum plays an integral part in how the site members can communicate with each other as well as ADMIN and L8s and so on. It should be a healthy tool for membership discussions.
By definitions, a forum should be a place where our ideas and views on particular issues can be exchanged. Online forums, bulletin boards, message boards are areas where questions, answers, and discussions on given topics are expressed. Many queries bring up the issues that can “crumble” a site. Creating backlinks is an effective tool to bring these issues back into focus.
Our forum should be an area where the members can share thoughts, and ideas by posting texts, pics and messages.
We all know that ADMIN “runs the show”, but he can’t be on top of every issue and problem that arises. It’s obvious that many new features and ideas can be approached by writing to him. There are also trusted members, and L8s that have a vocal presence by way of ADMIN. The forums’ rules have different meanings to different “mini-ADMINS, and therefore are interpreted differently. If you combine everybodys’ interpretations together, we have definite censorships. This kind of censorship ruins an open forum. I’m sure that half the members don’t know what such anti-social, disruptive, destructive acts like “flaming, spamming, flooding, trolling, and griefing” really are.
My point being, as evidenced in this post that “good changes” could be made with members being civil and opening up their minds to possible changes. And I believe ADMIN would be open to amending rules that need updating, expanding the FAQ question area that answer many current issues but need extended clarification.
I’m sure this post will be loopholed by some, [for sure], but if anything I wrote here makes sense, don’t be afraid to comment.
Stay healthy, connected and kind……….~bob~
