While in the process of building this set, I’ve noticed a few anomalies:

The Orioles team card #302 and rookie stars #558 have a red background (instead of the more common yellow). The Phillies team card has a blue background. Has anyone come across a reason as to why the colors were not uniform throughout; the other Baltimore Rookie Stars #507 has a yellow border.

On card #282, Johnny Odoms’ name and position are printed in yellow and red (instead of the black or white like the rest I’ve come across). It's peculiar that only one card in the entire set has such a major difference like this.

282 is just that way...not sure about the others w/o seeing a pic of yours

Interesting observation. Actually 4 teams have the red background, A’s, Orioles, Giants, and Red Sox.  But the most interesting one is the Braves with a real background. 

The team cards have red or yellow back backgrounds. I think the The Phillies may be the only Blue and the Braves have a natural background.

I don't see anything odd about the Team Cards. Previous years are the same; various colored backgrounds.

I suppose the colors stand out due to the set design. There are many high numbers eluding me, so discovering the Braves team image was exciting!
