After correcting and resorting the 1990 Starting Lineup baseball checklist, we'll need some help if you can check your collections:
1) There are at least 24 players that have two versions of the black border "1990 Edition" card: an original print where the statistics on the back are through the 1989 All-Star Break (card numbers end in "0"), and an updated print where the statistics are for the full 1989 season (card numbers end in "1"). The 24 known players are:
CHC Mark Grace
CHC Ryne Sandberg
CIN Eric Davis
CIN Chris Sabo
LA Orel Hershiser
NYM Dwight Gooden
NYM Gregg Jefferies
NYM Darryl Strawberry
STL Vince Coleman
STL Ozzie Smith
SF Will Clark
SF Kevin Mitchell
------
BAL Cal Ripken, Jr.
BOS Wade Boggs
BOS Roger Clemens
BOS Mike Greenwell
MIL Paul Molitor
MIN Kirby Puckett
NYY Don Mattingly
NYY Steve Sax
OAK Jose Canseco
OAK Rickey Henderson
OAK Mark McGwire
SEA Ken Griffey, Jr.
There are six others where our checklist has the first print ending in "0" but I couldn't locate an updated print ending in "1" on the usual sources, and I'm not sure if they exist or not. Can anyone confirm if there are full-season/"1" versions of the following?
CHC Andre Dawson #4691009021
HOU Mike Scott #4691005011
LA Kirk Gibson #4691002031
MON Andres Galarraga #4691025011
------
TEX Nolan Ryan #4691017071
TOR Fred McGriff #4691026021
With all the additions to the checklist, we'll need scans if anyone has the missing ones. No collection info was touched, so you'll need to adjust your collections as needed.
2) There are five players that had two different figurine poses:
CHC Mark Grace
NYM Darryl Strawberry
SF Will Clark
------
NYY Don Mattingly
SEA Ken Griffey, Jr. (one in this series and one in Extended)
I'm unable to confirm if the "0" version was packaged with one pose and the "1" version was packaged with the other pose, or if they could be found with either pose. For example, did the Griffey Jr. sliding figurine only come with the "0" version and the Extended figurine where he's making a catch only come with the "1" version, or could the sliding figurine have either the "0" or "1" version? This one might be trickier, but if anyone has the figurine and card out of the package and can verify what pair they have, that would help us with the Comments on these cards, which would assist other collectors.
Thanks!
