Just wondering if anyone knows how this card was distributed? It is listed with the 1980 Topps baseball set as an insert, but is larger (2.5X4.5) than normal cards, so wouldn't make sense that it would fit into any packs. Should it truly be listed with this set?

They were inserted in Super cello packs, along with a wrapped piece of gum.

Wow, a wrapped piece of gum? In 1980? That's impressive!

They stopped the gum in 1991.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Heheh. Understood.
It's the "wrapped" part that impressed me. I don't think I've ever seen a Topps pack that included a stick of gum in some sort of wrapper, instead of just loose with the cards. After some quick research, it turns out the Super Cellos contained 3 pieces of gum in a separate wrapper. Here's a current eBay listing that shows a good image of the entire package.

Interesting! Makes you wonder why they didn't wrap the gum more often. Expenses, I guess.

In 2006 or 07 or 08, I cannot remeber off the top of my head, they had wrapped gum in products too.
