1980 Topps Baseball Forum

I am wondering if these are really variants or just some kind of printing mishap. I have the Wathan (mine is all yellow) and I also have a couple Steve Braun (#9) cards with the red printing as partially yellow. I do know that when my printer runs out of ink, these sort of color variations occur.

They are print flaws, which are normally not listed here, but Admin has been alerted to these and they remain, meaning implicit exception was granted for those already listed.

1980 Topps is loaded with printing errors.  For the yellow name ones, the typically sought after are:

9 Steve Braun

387 Fred Stanley

547 John Wathan

563 Will McEnaney

597 Tom Poquette

To the best of my knowledge, only the Stanley has ever made its way into a Beckett pricing guide.  Regardless, as Dan stated above, they are considered print errors and therefore not something that the site usually tracks.

I'm going to include all 5 of these on my personal checklist for this set, which I am currently working on. I've got Braun and Wathan but not the other 3.
