If a scan does not look like the card in hand, that's actually more of a digital alteration than fixing brightness or whatever else you have to fiddle with to make the scan look like the card as it is. My scanner seems to go a little dark on most scans. Sometimes, even darker. If I uploaded those scans "raw", they would not be a fair representation of the card. Adjusting the brightness to allow the scan to look exactly like the card looks is portraying the card as it is.
Removing numbers (card number, serial number, no matter the numbers) from a card is altering the way it appears and does not show it as it is.

It is a personal/collecting preference and I am just going to leave it at that. I have been called out as being incorrect and will start the attempt at making things right. vrooomed as far as removal versus rescan, some cards have been traded, some have been sold, so uploading a corrected image is not possible, hence they will need to be removed. Thanks everyone for the feedback.

Billy, I got. Apparently I need things explained in more detail or a different way. As stated previously, corrections will be made and I can be added to the naughty list with my upload of scans privilege can be taken away.

I don't see this happending with cards, but sure if someone thought so they would try.
I have Civil War prints that are limited to 500 or 1000. The artist has to appove all of them before he signed them. I bought one that was numbered below 50 and was told, and found to be true back in 80's when I got it, that first 10% of run was worth more because of ink being truer to color. Anything to increase the price on the resale market. My source besides dealer was a guy I used to re-enact the Civil War with. When my brother told him the number he offered a increase in value to buy it. He even offered to find me another one to replace it the print I had.

Robert “It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Today, October 2, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped and summer was gone.” ― A. Bartlett Giamatti robertkimble.us/tradingcards

I don't think your privileges need to be taken away. You were under the assumption that what you did was acceptable and now that you are aware it is not, you are taking actions to correct it. Other than the serial number issue, your scans look fine. I've seen far worse with people consistently uploading scans that wouldn't and shouldn't pass muster

Well, if I ever post a bad one, please let me know so I can repost a better one.
I do dislike the refracs thou as every time I scan it I get a different relection of light almost.

I know it's been five years since this thread was last used, but I am just getting around to scanning my collection for the site. My RR-8 A.J. Bramlett has no serial numbering at all though the front is definitely a Hologold. I don't know if the player was supposed to number the cards or if it was Collector's Edge at fault.
