April 21-22, 1976

Tim Foli was 4 for 5, with 3 RBI and 2 runs scored as the Expos defeated the Chicago Cubs 12-6 in a wild game at Wrigley Field.

This game was delayed multiple times by rain and as the weather continued to threaten, the Expos (who had a big lead) tried to rush through the top of the 5th inning so the game could be official. Foli hit a screamer down the left field line in the 5th and easily got to third base for his triple--but he kept on running and was thrown out at home! He later admitted that he kept running because they needed outs.

Eventually, the game was suspended after 6 innings due to darkness (Wrigley Field still did not have lights in 1976). This meant that it had to be resumed the next day. Foli argued vehemently with the umpires that the game should be called due to rain, but to no avail.

The next day, Foli hit his home run in the top of the 8th inning and history was made.

September 15, 1979

Bob Watson was 4 for 5, with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored as the Boston Red Sox defeated the Baltimore Orioles 10-2 at Memorial Stadium in Baltimore.

Watson began the 1979 season with the Houston Astros, but was traded to Boston on June 13.
