Last Cards of Starsby jaysee88 - 1791 cards (Last updated on Mar 18, 2024) |
The requirements for making my list: have to be an active player or manager 1950 or later; have been elected to the Hall of Fame OR have been an All-Star, MVP, Cy Young Award winner, Gold Glove winner or Silver Slugger OR have hit 30+ HRs or win 20 games in a season at any point in their career (even before 1950); have a regular major release card issued 1950 or later; AND not have been on an MLB roster for the 2024 MLB season. Managers have to have managed in an All-Star game, won a World Series or be in the Hall of Fame plus meet the 1950 or later requirements as stated above.
Also, I have added a handful of players who were All-Stars and/or HOFs in the NBA, NFL or NHL, but had regular-issue baseball cards.
This is a rather lengthy list, but I hope you enjoy looking through it!

Thanks Jeff. My email is thornburghjp@gmail.com. It is harder being a "stats" baseball card guy. #1 my eyesight is not as good and I have a harder time reading the stats on a 20 year career. I hate the green backgrounds. #2 many of the new sets abbreviate the stats - I have a probelm with Upper Deck for this reason. Even some of the Topps Archives are cutting off some of the earlier years. My favorite set is the Topps 1957. I bought the set minus Gibson about 25 years ago. First year Topps inclued all of the years stats. Jim
This is awesome and fun. Thank you for taking the time to compile this list.
Love this list! I collect cards of players with 15 or more years of stats on the back, so this will be a great reference as I seek out more of these cards.
Marlon Byrd actually has a Topps Update card from the same year that could be considered his last mainstream card
