Packers Vs. Bearsby MoPack626 - 141 cards (Last updated on Mar 24, 2024) |
Why am I doing this, you may ask? Well, when I was a kid, my brother--a Bears fan--and I would try to find these cards. Of course, we tried to see if the card displayed any bad looks on each other's teams (a sack, turnover, penalty, a good offensive play, etc.). I also did this with my friends who were Dolphins, Bills, Eagles, and Vikings fan respectively. I remember having a lot of fun doing this (not sure if it will be the same now, but we'll give it a go). Now, as I have been looking over my Packer binders, I've noticed more of these cards and wanted to list them. I've also noticed that a select amount of Packers' opponents are featured, so I want to see what opponents are featured the most on Packers cards. Eventually, I want to see if I can spot all of the teams on Packers cards, but I'll start here with their most famous opponent since I started this "list" when I was a very young collector.
If this is your list, you can make it available by changing the status to "Open" under Lists.

I see three or four examples among the 1972 Sunoco stamps.
Thank you! I'll add them tonight.
I had forgotten about this until today: I was in the 5th grade in NJ during the fall of 1972. We had an art project of drawing and coloring/painting sports or action figures. This was the season when The Pack shocked the NFC Central Division while the Vikings stumbled. So my subject was Scott Hunter passing against an onrushing Dick Butkus. Check these out: 1972 Topps Mike McCoy in action, 1962 Topps Paul Hornung and 1974 Topps Jon Staggers.
Cool story about Hunter and Butkus! I'd imagine Hunter not doing well in that matchup. I just saw on Wikipedia that Hunter is one of the seventy-seven quarterbacks to ever post a perfect rating (while he was with the Falcons). I added the three cards. My favorite is the '62 Hornung card!
You missed 1972 Sunoco of Ken Bowman ... that looks like the Chicago home uniform sleeve (#87) of Ed O'Bradovich.
Added Bowman. Thank you, the Falcon!
Great list, Gave me an exuse to search through my Packers cards. I think I found two that are missing from your list 1987 Topps #353 Gerry Ellis VAR 1991 Upper Deck #214 Anthony Dilweg (i think)

You're absolutely right about an "excuse" to look though your cards. I have a greater appreciation for the art and science of them since I've been hunting for specific ones in my collection. I already have the Ellis card, but I think you're right about the Dilweg card; the white jersey and dark blue pants with a sliver of orange on the left leg suggest Bears to me. Thank you for the great find, ugo; I added it to the list.
